Researchers at Granada University in Spain have shown that a glass of beer is far better at rehydrating the body after exercise than water. They suspect that the sugars, salts and bubbles may help people absorb fluids more quickly.

Based on the studies, the researchers have recommended moderate consumption of beer as part of an athlete’s diet.
