The “problem” (for lack of a better word) that I have with Twitter is how many different things I use it for. My friends’ tweets are mixed in with the “interesting people” and “important technologist” tweets. On the flip side, I have a couple followers (bless their heart) that I have no idea why they’d be interested in anything I had to say, and so I “fear” (again, for lack… I’ve apparently got no vocabulary today) running them off every time I make some mundane post or an @ comment with little to no context.
It would add too much complexity and destroy the simplicity that is Twitter but sometimes I wish that there was some sort of grouping or tagging functionality available. That way I could either A) filter which tweets I keep up with during the day and then catch up with the rest in the evening and/or B) filter who (e.g. friends, followers, everyone) sees certain tweets so that relevance is maintained.
Of course, there are probably 101 reasons above and beyond the obvious ones why this would be a bad idea but I’ve got to get back to work. We now return you to your regularly scheduled link spam.
