Status Update

As I mentioned to Mike a couple days ago, lately I either don’t have the time to blog or enough will to make the time - I’m not sure which.

On the home front, we’ve been busy preparing house and mind for the arrival of the twins. (One thing we have to do soon is to settle on some names so that we can start referring to them as individuals instead of in the collective sense.) This past weekend we did some painting. (No, not the nursery, why does everyone ask that?) We got most of the prep work done on the guest bath and got the entire hallway completed. The only thing that we plan to do to the nursery (in the decorative sense) is to change the border and the art. Of course, we have to rearrange/remove some furniture yet as well.

On the work front, everything is going fine. I’m trying to figure out how to incorporate dynamic data and Flash… which wouldn’t be too bad if I wasn’t also trying to learn basic Flash tasks as well. Basically, I’m trying to find the best way to take an XML feed and apply it to a “scroller” of sorts. (I’m thinking that a properly designed “RSS scroller” would be very similar to this. Have you seen one?) Other than that, I’ve got a number of tasks on my list - including the development of what is essentially an Decision Support System for the Power Optimization group.

So that’s what’s going on around here. I’ve had to put my “hobbies” (including .NET self-instruction) on hiatus for now but I hope to be able to work them back into the schedule very soon. For now, be well and let me get back to work.
