From Scott - Here is what changed/updated (and has been posted):
- Reworked user interaction through the admin section. No more “Save” and “Add New”. It should now just be “Post/Add” and “Update”. Check and hallelujah!
- Posting of data should always result in a clear form when complete Yep.
- Contact requests you be forwared to the correct blogger (I already have forwarded everyones contact requests) Successfully tested - though it would seem to make sense to clear the form or display a confirmation page without a form at all. Helps avoid double-posting.
- Dropped calendar from Post admin. Instead, you would see two buttons (see update on categories below) on the write. One of which will show you your last X posts. You can configure this by date and reset it later. (this needs to be a config setting or just persited via cookie. Cool.
- You can now group any of your blogging posts by category. Most of you should see a new column sectin “Post Categories” on your home page. It is a bug that this shows up with out any valid categories, but it does work. It didn’t show up until I added a category…
- Caching has been removed from the admin section. Over time, where appropriate, I hope to work some of it back in, but until then, it should make managing your blog a little easier. Also note, although it is not clear yet, the syndication links when viewing a category filter the RSS feed to only display items in this category Excellent. There seems to still be some caching related to categories as it took a little while for an edit to the category name to appear on both the admin and the public side.
- Stories should now work. Yep… but the Show/Hide button seems to work opposite of what it’s supposed to.
- A seperate admin tab has been added for post categories The only way to add a category that I could find.
- Deleting categories has been enabled (this will of course delete all related links…not posts…only links) I’ll test this one later.
- Comments will now show up write away. I am still not 100% about this one. We will have watch the sites performance as time goes on. Basically, I blast the CommentsCollection from the cache when a comment is posted. Hmm…
- Viewstate should be very minimal through out the general part of the site. …
- Fixed calendar heading in the candid blue theme. …
- Other small bugs …
